We are a team of engineers who are passionate about building fast software systems and want to build a future where every software is fast by default, and not as an afterthought.

To solve this, Codeflash is building the world’s first AI software engineer for optimizing the performance of Python code. Codeflash automatically optimizes any Python codebase by improving its algorithms and logic, while guaranteeing it stays correct. Codeflash understands existing code, comes up with ideas on how to write faster code, tests those for correctness and creates a pull request with the fastest version.

We raised our first round of investment from top investors like Boldstart ventures and Conviction. Codeflash has already accelerated libraries like Pydantic, Langflow and improved performance for companies like Airbyte. Our goal is to optimize every line of existing code and all future code written.

About the role

We are hiring a skilled product and customer-obsessed engineer who quickly builds and iterates on the developer and CTO facing surfaces and the customer impact of CodeFlash’s technologies. You care about the user experience above all — and are constantly driven by direct user feedback in a quest to make the product as frictionless and delightful as possible.

Your main goal will be to figure out and implement the right developer workflow in an age when all code will be optimized. It will have 2 main areas -

1. You will be working to ensure a great developer experience with codeflash and delivering the most value for them. This involves working on our GitHub app, IDE Extensions, and the CLI tool.
2. You will implement many of the workflows and dashboards that will be helpful for teams of developers and engineering leaders.

You will play a fundamental role in shaping our product, company and the future of software development.

What we are looking for

• Customer-Obsessed: builds things by testing them with actual users and their reaction guides what to build next; frequently “touches grass”
• You are a quick learner: can pick up new tools, frameworks or libraries same-day by learning through doing; not afraid to use AI tools to help get started on anything
• Hacker: Knows when to take on tech debt to ship a new quick and dirty implementation versus when to polish; can “build for the demo”; can “build one to throw away”
• Moves fast and biased towards action: comfortable (and excited by!) going from initial idea to live deployment in a matter of hours
• You have a strong Typescript and React experience in production environments. Ideally 3+ years of experience.
• Good understanding of Python and programming language fundamentals.
• Practical experience using and deploying AI models (LLMs preferred).
